Glenda Ann Lovell Durrance, 73, of Blackshear, passed away early Friday morning, March 17, 2023, at her residence, following an extended illness.
Born November 9, 1949, in Pierce County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Gordon and Lessie Lillian Howell Lovell. She had lived all her life in Pierce County and Bacon County and was a graduate of Blackshear High School. She was a longtime housewife and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Durrance; two sisters, Brenda Lovell and Waunell Holloway and two brothers, Winfree Lovell and Waylon Lovell.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Aaron “Cotton” Durrance, Blackshear; two sons, Jim Durrance and Brad Durrance (wife Sandra), both of Blackshear; grandchildren, CJ and Caroline McGuire, Tiffany and Harley Gomme, Kevin McGuire, Alyssa Durrance, Kyle and Ole Durrance, Katie and Alex Hernandez, Heather and Jeremy Coleman, Brent and Emily Durrance and David Durrance; great-grandchildren, Lily Coleman, Brantley Coleman, Ella Coleman, Kazley Hernandez, Aleigha Hernandez and Tristan Hernandez, Emmarie Durrance and Riley Durrance; a sister, Wilma Hale, Blackshear; a brother, Wallace Lovell, Richardson, TX and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, at Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 22), from the Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Edmund Thrift and the Rev. Jimmy Thrift officiating.
Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery.
