Memorial Satilla Health will host its second blood drive of the year from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the annex cafetorium at 1800 Alice Street, Waycross.
This drive marks the hospital’s first coordinated drive with The Blood Connection.
In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, this drive will feature a luck of the donor prize – All blood donors will receive a scratch off ticket ($10 value) that will reveal a bonus prize. All donors are also eligible for a $60 e-gift card.
Donors of all blood types are needed to keep a stable blood supply throughout the year.
The American Red Cross reports that it must collect approximately 13,000 blood donations every day.
“The need is constant,” says Dr. Morris Gitter, emergency physician at Memorial Satilla. “I encourage everyone who is able, to donate blood this month as a service to their community.”
The American Red Cross reports that it must collect approximately 13,000 blood donations every day for patients in need and there aren’t enough people donating blood to help people in need.
