Jeanette Joyce Duran Heider, 80, of Fernandina Beach, FL, passed away early Thursday morning, March 30, 2023, at Satilla Bluffs Senior Care in Blackshear, following an extended illness.
Born October 30, 1942, in Tampa, FL, she was the only daughter of the late Joe and Bella Diaz Duran. She grew up in Tampa and had lived in St. Marys, Pinetop, AZ, Coshocton, OH, Florence, SC, Atlanta, and Chicago, IL before making Amelia Island her home in 1996. She had worked as a nurse at Charity Hospital in New Orleans and had also been a longtime housewife.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Fernandina Beach.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Heider; a daughter, Jacqueline Heider; brother, Joe Duran Jr. and a son-in-law, Jeff Crawford.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeanne Marie Crawford, Blackshear and Jennifer James Faith (husband Christopher), Fernandina Beach; four grandchildren, Tiffany Tindall and Brittany O’Berry, both of Waycross, James Heider Cloud of Montana and Lily Faith, Fernandina Beach and two great-grandchildren, Bentley O’Berry and Brayleigh O’Berry.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 3, from the Tampa Garden of Memories, 4207 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610.
