PCHS track teams compete in Game Changers Apex Invitational

The Pierce County High School (PCHS) Track Teams competed in the Game Changers Apex Invitational last Friday, March 24. There were 12 schools in attendance ranging from AA-7A.

Representing the Lady Bears,  Sophie Scruggs got things going winning pole vault with a jump of 11’-0. Mary-Emma Moore finished fifth with a vault of 6’-6 and Sara Jane Moore finished eighth with a vault of 6’-0.

Jada Patterson finished second in the 100m dash with a time of 12.74, seventh in the 200m dash with a time of 26.69 and eighth in Long Jump.

Kora Good finished eighth in high jump with a jump of 4-6.

The Girls 4x100m Relay finished fifth with a time of 52.12, the 4x200, 4x400, and 4x800 all finished eighth scoring points for the Lady Bears.

Noelia Aguirre finished eighth in the 1600m run with a time of 6:32.58.

Reed Young got the scoring going for the boys with a second place finish in pole vault hitting a new personal record (PR) of 12’-0.

Jaquez White had a great night, winning the 300m Hurdles with a time of 39.51. He also finished fifth in the 110m Hurdles with a time if 15.32 and fifth in long jump.

The 4x100m Relay team finished third overall with a time of 43.65, and the  4x400m Relay team finished sixth.

Joe Drew finished third in triple jump, with a 42-3.5 jump, and finished eighth in the 400m dash.

Elijah Howard finished fifth in shot with a throw of 43-11.25 and fifth in discus with a throw of 125-11.

Dexter Hartzog scored for the Bears in the 200m dash with a time of 23.15.

The Bears will be back on the track tomorrow, Thursday, March 30 at home vs Fitzgerald and Long, Brantley and Tattnall Counties.
