Roxie Faye Manning Riggins

Roxie Faye Manning Riggins, 83, of Blackshear, passed away Saturday evening, August 19, 2023, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross.

Born in Blackshear April 1, 1940, she lived in Pierce County most of her life. She was a 1959 graduate of Blackshear High School and was a homemaker.  She loved to shop and travel – especially to the mountains or on a cruise. A people person, she loved going out to eat and to go dancing. She was a founding member of Hacklebarney Baptist Church where she had been in the Ladies Sunday school class.  She dearly loved her family and her church family.

She was a daughter of the late Zoie Lee Peacock Manning.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Nichols Lawton “Ray” Riggins Jr.; three sisters, Waunell Sapp, Maudelle Crosby and Jeanette McQuaig and both of her brothers, Estes Fulton Manning and Charles Gleen Manning.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Raymond Walsh and Cindy and Kevin Royster, all of Blackshear; a sister, Betty Sue Fraley, Waycross; a brother-in-law, Donald Crosby, lackshear; 4 grandchildren, Cole (Priscilla) Walsh, Kandace Royster, Kimberly (Travis) Trammell and Kyle (Breanna) Royster; two great-grandchildren, Griffin Walsh and Koda Royster and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, August 21, from the Oakland Cemetery in Waycross with the Rev. Monroe Gill officiating.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.
