David Timothy “Tim” Cavagnaro Sr., 64, of Waycross died Thursday morning, August 24, 2023, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, after a sudden illness.
He was born in Waycross to the late Ralph John Cavagnaro Sr. and Nelda Francine “June” Towson where he made Waycross his home for most of his life. He worked many years in law enforcement, most recently with the Brantley County Sheriff’s Office. Throughout the years, he became a well renowned entrepreneur in South Georgia owning and operating many different businesses. He was a man that enjoyed traveling, especially his trips to Vietnam and around the country in his RV. He was an exceptional cook and he enjoyed his time at his beach house in Panama City Beach, FL. Above all, he loved his children and grandchildren and the time spent with them.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Cavagnaro Jr., Steve Sims and John Edge.
Survivors include his wives, Tammy Cavagnaro, Waycross and Chau Cavagnaro, Waycross; four children, Amy Cavagnaro, Waycross, Tina Escalera, husband Fidel, Dothan, AL and Gina Cavagnaro and Tim Cavagnaro Jr., both of Waycross; five grandchildren, Nini Nguyen (Chance), Kristen McKinney (Bradson), Cavan Nguyen, Carolina McKinney and Jaylin Escalera; his mother, June Towson, Waycross; a sister, Cynthia Ann McCook, Waycross and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
