PES BETA Club speaks to Rotary

Patterson Elementary School BETA Club members presented their marketing and communication project to Blackshear Rotary Club members last week. The team of fourth and fifth graders recently won first place at the BETA Club competition for their project which helped promote the grand opening of a new veterans museum exhibit at Eagle Station in Patterson. The students helped market the new exhibit through the newspaper, digital signage and social media. Students also volunteered at the grand opening and met with local veterans, hearing their stories and learning about American history through the exhibit artifacts and conversations with area historians. These students are now headed to BETA’s national competition in Orlando this summer. Rotary Club President-Elect Stacey Thrift presented the students with Easter baskets. Rotary meets weekly at J. Leonard’s on Main. Pictured above are (l-r) Julie Griner, Eliza Horne, Karsyn Bennett, Polly Hodges and Landri Bennett.
