HAZELHURST — Pierce County High School closed out its regular season track schedule competing here Thursday in the seven-team Jeff Davis Last Chance meet.
Schools competing with PCHS were Bleckley County, Glynn Academy, host Jeff Davis, PCHS, Richmond Hill, Toombs County and Vidalia. No team scores were released.
Pierce County will serve as host to the two-day region meet, which began Tuesday, April 22. The finals are scheduled for Thursday, April 24.
Girls’ meet
Pierce County’s best finish was a runner-up spot by Kaitlyn Sapp in the pole vault clearing a height of eight feet.
Finishing third were Kora Good (4’10”) in the high jump and Caren Drew (32’5.5”) in the shot put.
Placing fourth were Azalea Mobley (13.41 seconds) in the 100--meter run, Drew (94’2”) in the discus, the 4x100m relay team (52.35 sec.) and the 4x400m relay team (4:36.53).
Mobley (14’11”) was fifth in the long jump. Recording sixth-place finishes were Saharah Minott (28’4”) in the shot put and the 4x200m relay team (1:58.26).
Notching seventh-place showings were Mobley (28.62 sec.) in the 200m, Kristin Clark (1:07.17) in the 400m and Jesslyn Moore (27’3”) in the triple jump.
Finishing ninth were Patience Smith (14.54 sec.) in the 100m and Minott (64’1”) in the discus.
Placing 10th were Layla Chandel in both the 200m (29.56 sec.) and the 400m (1:08.94), and Dominque Hightower (20.32 sec.) in the 100m hurdles.
Posting 11th-place finishes were Clark (29.85 sec.) in the 200m and Smith (12’9.5”) in the long jump.
Recording 12th-place showings were Jose’ziah James (1:09.31) in the 400m and Ana Llamas-Diaz (3:17.58) in the 800m.
Finishing 13th were Llamas-Diaz (7:26.95) in the 1,600m and Kierstin Jones (44’) in the discus. Jones (23’1”) was 15th in the shot put. Rhondale Johnson (17.53 sec.) placed 16th in the 100m.
Boys’ meet
PCHS’s 4x100m relay team posted the lone first-place finish with a clocking of 43.15 seconds.
Omar Jinks (22.38 sec.) in the 200m and Amir Mckenzie (6’) in the high jump had runner-up showings.
Finishing third were Jinks (11.03 sec.) in the 100, the 4x400m relay team (3:36.05) and the 4x800m relay team (9:45.73).
Joe Drew (42’10”) recorded a fourth-place finish in the triple jump. Sam Braddock (23.52 sec.) was fifth in the 200m as was the 4x200m relay team (1:35.42).
Joeshua McBride (55 sec.) placed seventh in the 400m. Recording eighthplace finishes were Brandon Yepes (2:21.30) in the 800m, Yontareon Moore (19.30 sec.) in the 110m hurdles, Trenton Kennedy (116’8”) in the discus and Mckenzie (55.22 sec.) in the 400m.
Placing ninth were Leland Williams (113’10”) in the discus and Yepes (11:47.53) in the 3,200m.
Finishing 10th were Braden McKendree (45.08 sec.) in the 300m hurdles, Carson Hope (107’) in the discus and Braddock (19’2”) in the long jump.
Posting 11th-place finishes were Terry Gibbs (25.56 sec.) in the 200m and McBride (18’2”) in the long jump.
Recording 12th-place finishes were Breck Benton (6:07.15) in the 1,600m, Jordan Williams (38’6”) in the shot put and McKendree (17’10”) in the long jump.
Finishing 13th were Micah Bryant (2:24.13) in the 800m, Landon Rainey (13:36.36) in the 3,200m, Noah Delaney (50.12 sec.) in the 300m hurdles and K’don Lashley (36’11.5”) in the shot put.
William McQuaig (2:27.86) was 15th in the 800m. Finishing 16th were Jacob McCrea (13.01 sec.) in the 100m and Kennedy (32’10”) in the shot put.
