HOBOKEN — The recognition of City Clerk Linda Henderson being recognized in Atlanta by the Speaker of the House for her 50 years of service with the City of Hoboken highlighted the April monthly meeting.
The honor from Speaker of the House Jon Burns with a resolution came Thursday, March 27 at the state capitol.
“I appreciate what they did,” said Henderson. “They took us in the chambers and we went up in the gallery. When he read the resolution he asked me to stand up and then asked the mayor (Joey Crews) to stand up. He wasn’t in the gallery.”
“It (gallery) was packed. The Brantley County High School girls’ tennis team was there as well as the state champion wrestlers from the high school. There were other schools there as well.
“Afterwards, we gathered on the stairs and had a picture made with Governor Brian Kemp. Later, they took us back to the chambers to meet with the speaker and have a picture. So it was a nice day.”
