Pierce 4-H SAFE BB team hosts qualifying match, takes 27 awards

The Pierce County 4-H SAFE BB Team hosted the 2025 Southeast District 4H Qualifying BB Match Saturday, March 29 at the NFC Gym in Blackshear. Eighteen teams and 125 shooters competed in the match with Pierce County winning a total of 27 awards. Over 300 shooters and spectators attended the event.

Shooters must score a minimum of 310 without the testing score included to qualify for the State 4-H match at Rock Eagle 4-H Center, but all 17 Pierce County Shooters qualified for the State 4-H Shooting Match.

Pierce County’s Pierce Red 1 Team, included JerriBeth Mullis, Eli Locklear, Allie Herrin, Gad DePratter, Eli Chesser, Austin Brymer and Aleeah Eason, took second place with a 2371 and 65 center shot team score.

JerriBeth Mullis took first place individually with a 97-4 in prone, 95-4 in standing, 98-6 in sitting, 92-3 in kneeling, and making a 100 on the District Competition Test, giving her an overall score of 482 and 17 center shots. She also placed first in the Standing Position and broke her personal competition shooting record for the season.

Allie Herrin placed third individually, third in standing, second in kneeling, and made a 100 on her test. Eli Locklear placed first in sitting, made a 100 on his test, was a top five shooter and broke his personal competition shooting record. Gad DePratter made a 100 on his test and was a top ten shooter. Eli Chesser, Austin Brymer and Aleeah Eason all made 100 on their tests and were top 20 shooters.

Pierce County’s Pierce Red 2 Team, including Ayden Brymer, Eva King, Andrew Davis, Mason Dixon and Mikah Deal, placed eleventh with a 2182 and 32 center shot team score.

Ayden Brymer, Eva King and Andrew Davis all made 100 on their district competition tests and broke their personal competition shooting records for the season. Mikah Deal also broke her personal competition shooting record.

Pierce County’s Pierce Red 3 took tenth place with a 2190 and 28 center shots team score. The Pierce Red 3 team includes Taylor Sexton, Riley Sexton, Hunter Deal, Dixie Griffis and Case Deal.

Taylor Sexton made a 100 on his competition test and broke his personal competition shooting record. Riley Sexton, Dixie Griffis and Case Deal all made 100 on their competition test.

The Pierce 4-H SAFE Team also expressed their gratitude to Pierce County Commissioner David Lowman and Pierce County Sheriff Ramsey Bennett for their attendance and interest in their local shooting program. First responders were recognized in opening and closing ceremonies at the event.
