Jerry Ward Peacock, 77, of Blackshear, passed away late Saturday evening, April 12, 2025, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross.
Born in Blackshear, February 17, 1948, he lived in Pierce County all his life. He was a 1966 graduate of Blackshear High School. He was the owner/operator of Peacock Septic Tank Service for many years and loved his job so much he considered it his hobby.
He had a big heart, loved to make people happy, and was known for his “Jerryisms”. He enjoyed watching westerns as well as admiring airplanes and the occasional air show. He loved the Lord and tried to live his life reflecting that. Perhaps he showed it most by the love and care his gave his late wife during her illness and passing. He also dearly loved his family and friends.
He was a member of Blackshear First Baptist Church where he had served on the baptismal team as well as on the audio/visual team. He was also in the Misfits Sunday School Class.
He was a son of the late John Ward and Susie Lee Dixon Peacock. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Rose Cason Peacock; his brother, Ray Peacock; and a nephew, Joey Prevatt.
Survivors include his brother-in-law, Bill (Gwen) Cason of Blackshear; nieces and nephews, Chris (Teresa) Prevatt, Blackshear; Joanna King, Jacksonville, FL, Brianna (Josh) Lang, Atlanta; Kelly (Joe) Nguyen, Columbus, OH and Laurie (Johnny) Peacock, Chicago, IL; great-nieces and great-nephews, Bryce (Ariel) Prevatt, Tyler Prevatt and Haley (Kyle) Crews; special friends and family, Glennis and Vicki Tyre, Blackshear and several other relatives and friends.
