Gregory Paul “Greg” Strickland, 60, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, June 18, 2023, at The Morris Center Community Hospice and Palliative Care of Jacksonville, Florida.
Born August 19, 1962, in Jacksonville, he was a son of Linnie Johnson Arpen and the late Claude Strickland. A lifelong resident of Jacksonville, he was gifted with many talents. He worked in various trades in the construction industry including as a brick/block mason, electrician, carpenter and in drafting. He also built and refinished furniture.
He was also an artist, enjoying painting and drawing pictures and was a talented musician and singer who enjoyed playing his guitar. He enjoyed fishing, cracking jokes and making people laugh, dearly loved his family and spending time with them, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Ashlee, who was the love of his life.
Survivors include his daughter, Ashlee Lynn Strickland, Jacksonville; his mother and stepfather, Linnie Johnson and Ronald Arpen, Jacksonville and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-noon Wednesday, June 21, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, June 21, from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Wheeler officiating.
Interment will follow in the New Home Cemetery.
