Carl Edwin ‘Eddie’ Crawford

WAYCROSS — Mr. Carl Edwin “Eddie” Crawford, 77, died Thursday afternoon, April 3, 2025, at

Hospice House Satilla after an extended illness.

Crawford was born October 22, 1947 in Alton, Ill., to the late Carl Crawford and Kizzie Walker Sloan.

He att ended Patterson Schools until the 11th grade graduating from Ware County High School in 1965.

Crawford worked for Georgia Power for 15 years, but mostly farmed all his life. He was a current member and deacon of Sweat Memorial Baptist Church, and he was a former member and deacon of Haywood Baptist Church. Crawford enjoyed farming, fishing, and racing hot rods.

In addition to his parents, Crawford was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Louise King Crawford.

Survivors include three children, Sherri Crews (Harold) of Byron, Ga., Edwin Crawford (Cindy) of Dixie Union and Kelli Delk (Danny) of Dixie Union; grandchildren, Natalie Johnson (Craig), Anne-Alyssa Bond (Zack), Julianna Soriano (Alex), Crawford Crews, Chris Nealie O’Neal, Dustin O’Neal (Meg), Jamie Justice (Bethany), Austin Delk (Ansley), MacKenzie Delk (Calvin Bak) and Aniston Delk; great grandchildren, Eliza and Ford Johnson, Jase, Cade, Raife, Raylon and Reid O’Neal, Andy, Belle and Chase Justice, Amelia Soriano, and Tate Delk; two brothers, Ronald Crawford of Spring Hill, Fla., and Gary Crawford (Carol) of Waycross; along with several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Saturday, April 5 at Sweat Memorial Baptist Church. Burial followed in Hephzibah Cemetery in Dixie Union.
