PEARSON — Mr. Curtice Leonne Pittman, Sr., age 85, of Pearson, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas.

Born February 18, 2025, in Homerville, Pittman was the son of the late Jeff and Cleo Young Pittman. He enj oyed bowling, model trains, baseball and Clinch County High School football. Pittman retired from the maintenance department at Scapa Dryers Inc. in Waycross, and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Pittman was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Summer Pittman; son-in-law, Jerry Riggins; three brothers, Cortez Pittman, Sam Pittman and Russell Pittman; sister, Esta Bohanan; and the mother of his children, Maxine Smith.

He is survived by two sons an daughters-in-law, Leonne Pittman and wife, Amanda, and Jesse L. Griffis and wife, Colleen, all of Pearson; a daughter, Scarlett Riggins and husband, Tom Simmons, of Pearson; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister, Shirley Pittman Smith of Homerville; very special friend, Thelma Melton of Waycross; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, April 1 at Wesley Chapel Church in Pearson with the Rev. Teddy Burch officiating.

Special music included “Go Rest High on That Mountain” and “Amazing Grace” presented by CD; The internment followed in Royals Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Leonne Pittman, Skyler Pittman, Peyton Pittman, Johnny Riggins, Shawn Riggins and Curtice Griffis.

Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson was in charge of the arrangements.
