Mom’s Night Out scheduled May 1 The care team at Memorial Satilla Specialists Women’s Health, 505 S. City Boulevard stages Mom’s Night Out, at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 1.

The event is free and open to the public to celebrate Women’s Health Month. Registration is required by visiting memorialsatillahealth. com/cale ndar or calling (912) 5846201.

Attendees will be able to speak with health care providers, enjoy refreshments and have a chance to win a variety of door prizes.

Ware BOE sets meeting on budget The Ware County Board of Education will meet in a called meeting at 5 p.m., Monday, April 21 at 1301 Bailey Street.

Purpose of the public meeting is to discuss the proposed annual operating budget. The meeting agenda is posted prior to the meeting and the minutes are posted as well on the system web page at www.ware.k12.ga.us under the District and e-Board links.

The called meeting precedes a work session at 6 p.m. The board’s monthly business meeting will be at 6 p.m., Tuesday, April 22 at the Bailey Street office.

Library trustees meet April 24

The Waycross-Ware County Public Library Board of Trustees has a meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 24 at the Waycross- Ware County Public Library, 401 Lee Avenue.

Sheriff James sets Easter Egg Hunt Ware County Sheriff Carl James and his personnel will hold an Easter Egg Hunt from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 12 on the office grounds, 3487 Harris Road.

The hunt, which begins at 10:45 a.m., is open to infants through children age 11. There will be prizes for ages infant to 3, ages 4-7 and 8-11.

Lunch will follow the egg hunt.

Pilots offer free flights for youth

The Black Pilots Association of America returns to the Waycross-Ware County Airport Saturday, April 12 for its annual “Thrill of the First Flight” program for area youth.

The pilots will give anyone under 18 a complimentary airplane ride from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the airport, 3098 Keen Drive. Spots are limited.

A light lunch will be provided for the youth.

Satilla Democrats to meet April 12 The Satilla Democrats will meet at 11 a.m., Saturday April 12 at the Waycross- Ware County Public Library, 401 Lee Avenue.

Rec. Dept. sets Easter Egg Hunt Ware County Recreation Department holds its annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 19, at Memorial Park, 1300 S. Georgia Pkwy.

Registration for the free event is at 11 a.m. and the hunt starts at 11:30. There will be music, food, prizes, and a chance for pictures with the Easter Bunny.
