Adopt-a-Thon at Petsense on Sat.

Petsense holds its Spring Adopt-a-Thon from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 12 in the parking lot in front of the store, 2477 Memorial Drive.

Animals from shelters and rescues in a 100-mile radius will participate with adoptable pets. There also will be a variety of vendors selling items and food on site with 10 percent of their proceeds going to the shelters and rescues.

The Ware County Sheriff’s Office and Waycross Police Department K-9 units will have demonstrations, and there will be a petting zoo, games, and face painting for children. There also will be a raffle for a variety of prizes with proceeds also benefitting the shelters and rescues.

The local event is part of a nationwide program dedicated to placing adoptable animals in a forever home. For information, call (912) 283-3073 or (352) 348-2773.

Post 517 holds meeting April 16 American Legion John S. Sutton Post 517, 710 Dorothy Street, meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 16.
