BEARVILLE — Pierce County closed out its regular season home track schedule with the Lady Bears and Bears each finishing third in a five-team meet Thursday.
Appling County swept the April 3 meet. The Lady Pirates unofficially netted 166 points to run away from the field. They were followed by Charlton County (93), PCHS (83), Telfair County (63) and Tattnall County (62).

Pierce County will participate Thursday, April 17 in Hazelhurst at the Jeff Davis Invitational. PCHS will host the region meet with preliminaries Tuesday, April 22 and the finals Thursday, April 24.
Girls’ meet
Kora Good and Caren Drew recorded the Lady Bears’ two first-place finishes. Good captured the high jump (5’1”) with Drew winning the shot put event (33’10”) Drew finished second (95’9”) in the discus. Azalea Mobley placed third in both the 100-meter (13.38 seconds) and long jump (15’9”).
Finishing fourth were Kristin Clark (1:09.47) in the 400m, Ana Llamas-Diaz (7:41.03) in the 1,600m, Saharah Minott in both the discus (64’3”) and shot put (27’3”), the 4x100m relay team (52.93 sec.) and the 4x200m relay team (1:58.80).
Placing fifth were Zanyria Monroe in the both the 400m (1:09.51) and 300m hurdles ( 55.09 sec.), Ana Llamas-Diaz (3:11.80) in the 800m and Kora Good (15’4”) in the long jump, Layla Chandel (29.27 sec.) was sixth in the 200m. Azalea Mobley (29.31 sec.) finished seventh in the 200m. Recording eighth-place finishes were Patience Smith (13’10”) in the long jump and Kierstin Jones (24’7”) in the shot put.
Logging 11th-place finishes were Jazmine Scott (31.84 sec.) in the 200m and Jose’ziah James (1:15.38) in the 400m. Jazmine Scott (14.16 sec.) placed 12th in the 100m.
Jesslyn Moore (14.28 sec.) was 13th in the 100m. Finshing 14th were Kristin Clark (14.31 sec.) in the 100m and Kierstin Jones (45’7”) in the discus. Placing 15th were Layla Chandel (14.37 sec.) in the 100m and Rhondale Johnson (38.58 sec.) in the 200m.
Boys’ meet
Omar Jinks and Joe Drew captured the Bears’ firstplace finishes. Jinks won the 100m (11.11 sec.) with Drew flying to a win in the triple jump (41’8.5”).
Placing second were Amir Mckenzie (6’) in the high jump, Leland Williams (115’11”) in the discus, Jordan Williams (39’9”) in the shot put, the 4x100m relay team (43.35 sec.) and the 4x800m relay team (9:41.13).
Finishing third were Brandon Yepes (2:29.64) in the 800m, Braden McKendree (44.68 sec.) in the 300m hurdles and the 4x200m relay team (1:36.70).
Recording fourth-place finishes were Joe Drew (11.60 sec.) in the 100m, Omar Jinks (23.69 sec.) in the 200m, Micah Bryant (2:29.82) in the 800m and Breck Benton (5:42.16) in the 1,600m.
Registering fifth-place finishes were Sam Braddock (23.73 sec.) in the 200m, Joeshua McBride (23.73 sec.) in the 200m, Amir Mckenzie (56.10 sec.) in the 400m and Omar Jinks (18’7”) in the long jump.
Logging sixth-place showings were Yontareon Moore (18.20 sec.) in the 110m hurdles, Sam Braddock (18’2”) in the long jump and Carson Hope (108’) in the discus.
Placing seventh were Joe Drew (24.33 sec.) in the 200m, Joeshua McBride (18’1.5”) in the long jump and Trenton Kennedy (105’5”) in the discus.
Eighth-place finishes were recorded by Sam Braddock (11.79 sec.) in the 100m, Terry Gibbs (57.87 sec.) in the 400m and K’don Lashley (35’8”) in the shot put.
Placing ninth were Braden McKendree (11.81 sec.) in the 100m, William McQuaig (2:38.38) in the 800m and Coleman Lee (6:13.72) in the 1,600m. Breck Benton (58.56 sec.) was 10th in the 400m.
Finishing 11th were Noah Delaney (53.39 sec.) in the 300m hurdles, Jordan Williams (102’9”) in the discus and Trenton Kennedy (34’8”) in the shot put.
Recording 12th-place finishes were David Herring (58.32 sec.) in the 300m hurdles and Leland Williams (32’) in the shot put.
Placing 13th were Noah Delaney (12.19 sec.) in the 100m and DeMontre Clark (1:00.55) in the 400m. Jacob McCrea (1:00.80) was 14th in the 400m, DeMontre Clark (25.74 sec.) 15th in the 200m and Yontareon Moore (1:04.32) 16th in the 400m.
