Marjorie ‘JoAnn’ Dixon Moore

HORTENSE — Marjorie “JoAnn” Dixon Moore, 81, of Hortense passed away Tuesday evening, April 1, 2025.

Mrs. Moore was born in Blackshear to the late Erlish Clinton Dixon and Edith Varn adore Dixon. She lived in Hortense most of her life.

Mrs. Moore lived in Camden County and moved to Hortense in 2012. She was a member of Twin Rivers Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Moore enjoyed working in her yard and always had a beautiful yard. She loved everybody and always hugged and kissed everyone. Her family was her life.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Troy Moore; two daughters, Genevie Moore and Renee Moore; a son, Joey Moore; a sister, Norma Jean Lightsey; and a brother, Clinton Dixon.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-inlaw, Marjorie Carver (Mike) of Hortense and Polly Reynolds (Lee) of Mocksville, N.C.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Marcus Moore (Sally) of Hortense and Luke Moore (Laura) of Williamson, Ga.; 12 grandchildren, Chad Carver (Danielle), Matthew Carver (Casey), Dylan Reynolds (Sapphire), Ally Sanders (Andrew), Chelsea England (Cody), Brock Reynolds (Karyna), Josh Herrin (Amanda), Haley Noah (Jacob), Lucas Moore (Candace), Leeanna Moore, Dakoda Warner (Emily) and Joseph Warner (Andrea); 25 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service was held Saturday morning, April 5, 2025, at Twin Rivers Baptist Church with Rev. Rusty Bryan officiating.

Burial followed in Bristol Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Chad Carver, Matthew Carver, Lucas Moore, Josh Herrin, Dylan Reynolds, Brock Reynolds, Joseph Warner, Landon Carver, Fisher Carver, Ayden Sanders, Easton Sanders, Landyn Sanders, Jayson Sanders and Hayden Underwood.

Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
