Dolores Christine Taylor Higginbotham

Dolores Christine Taylor Higginbotham FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. – Dolores Christine Taylor Higginbotham, 89 of Fernandina Beach, Fla., passed away Wednesday night, April 2, 2025 at Community Hospice after an extended illness.

Born in Thomasville, Higginbotham’s parents were Winfred Taylor and Irma Taylor. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Gary Taylor.

Mrs. Higginbotham worked for

Watkins Co., as an accountant and was a member of Amelia Plantation Chapel Church in Fernandina. She was President of Republican Women’s committee in Nassau.

Mrs. Higginbotham enjoyed tennis, traveling, spending time at the farm in Hickox and most of all she loved spending time with her family, grand children and great grand children.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, William “Bill” Higginbotham of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike Higginbotham (Kathy) of Jacksonville; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Chaubal (Raj) of Fort Collins, Col.; four grandchildren, Jessica Dempsey (Beau), Jennifer Langoise (Jerrod), Devin Chaubal and Arden Chaubal; six great grandchildren, Peter Dempsey, Michael Dempsey, Angelina Hashrimi, Dylan Lamgoise, Harper Lamgoise and R.J. Oliver; a brotherin- law, Linton Higginbotham; a sister-in-law, Shirley Lee; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.

A graveside service will be held today (Wednesday, April 9, 2025) at 3 p.m., at New Hope Cemetery.
