Woodall recognized on ‘wall of honor’

Hometown hero Ralph T. “Buddy” Woodall Jr. was recognized recently by Larry Harrison on the Wall of Honor at the Builtwell Bank in Dalton. Builtwell has branches in northwest Georgia and southeast Tennessee. Harrison was a classmate of Woodall’s at Blackshear High School. Woodall was a well-liked member of the BHS class of 1962, where he played football for the Tigers. He attended Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College in Tifton and worked for the railroad prior to joining the military to serve in the U.S. Army. Woodall, 22, was killed in action by Viet Cong sniper fire in March, 1967. Harrison’s tribute to Woodall includes a rubbing of his name from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC and a photo of Woodall.
