Hello friends, Here is the news for this week.
***** To our community: We all will be celebrating the Resurrection over the next two weeks, beginning this week with Palm Sunday. We expect to give our Lord the praises for His death and resurrection. ***** It’s almost time! Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 3383 Tyre Bridge Road Patterson, will have its homecoming and family and friends day this weekend, Saturday April 12 and Sunday, April 13.
We want to invite all of Patterson, Offerman, Screven, Blackshear, Bristol, Alma, Waycross and Jesup from surrounding areas and all those near and far to the two-day extravaganza.
Saturday, April 12, will be our tail gate festival. Bounce houses, water slides, vendors, sweets and treats, food stands, bingo, music and so much more will be featured. Vendors are still welcome. Bring your entire family out for some nice clean fun, food and fellowship.
Bring your lawn chairs and just come out and have a good time.
Sunday, April 13, is our family and friends day. Sunday school will be at 9:45 a.m. and worship service at 11 a.m.
I’m telling you people, you don’t want to miss it. ***** Easter sunrise service will be held at 5:45 a.m. Sunday, April 20 at the at Piney Grove Freewill Baptist, 2808 Piney Grove Road, Blackshear. Speaker will be Pastor Evelyn Taylor from Greater Saint James AME Church. You are invited to come worship with us. ***** Session Hill Community Center will be hosting its 6th Annual Black-Tie Gala from 6-10 p.m. Saturday April 26, at the center at 3105 Allen Ave., Blackshear. Tickets are $35. Keynote speaker will be Mayor Cosby H. Johnson, of Brunswick. Men are asked to wear black tux or black suits and women are asked to wear formal wear and spring wear fascinators.
