The process of arresting a Waycross man March 18 on two active probation warrants led to his arrest as well as four others on drug-related charges. Each of the five were charged with felony Possession of Methamphetamine as well as misdemeanor Possession of Drug Related Objects, said Ware County Sheriff’s Office Major Neil Skerratt. Charged with the drug offenses were:
• Codie Alan Patrick Waters, 31, of the 100 block of Owen Lee Road;
• Katelynn Marie Sweeney, 25, of the 1600 block of Creswell Street;
• Aleigha Mae Johnson, 20, of the 100 block of Owen Lee Road;
• Gage Andrew Matthew Crews, 25, of the 5000 block Seminole Trail;
• Jabriel Nicholas Baker, 27, of the 100 block of Owen Lee Road. Waters was the subject named in the probation warrants. Crews also had violation of parole in addition to the drug charges. All were taken to the Ware County Jail following the arrests. Johnson was later released on bond while Waters, Baker and Crews remain incarcerated, according to Skerratt.
Sweeney was wanted on an active warrant in Pierce County and was booked into the Pierce County Jail. She will face the charges in Ware County after those from the warrant in Pierce County are adjudicated, stated Skerratt.
WCSO personnel arrived at a Owen Lee Road residence about 2:37 p.m., March 18 to arrest a subject on an active probation warrant. Deputies were able to confirm Waters lived at the residence.

It was learned Waters had a Fourth Amendment waiver for the search of a residence at any time. With Det. Antony Phillips, deputies searched the residence and the investigation led to contact with several individuals resulting in additional arrests.
