21st Swampfest kicks of Friday at 5

The 21st annual Swampfest celebration will be staged in downtown Waycross Friday-Saturday, April 4-5.

The city’s premier festival begins at 5 p.m., Friday and resumes at 9 a.m. Saturday for a full day and night of activities concluding with a fireworks show around 10:15 p.m.

Here’s the schedule of events.

April 4

5 p.m.: Festival opens.

5 p.m.: Satilla Advocacy Services presentation. 6 p.m.: Derrick Flowers Band, live main stage.

8 p.m.: Swingin’ Medallions, live main stage. 10:30: Swampfest closes.

April 5

9 a.m.: Festival opens. 9 a.m.: Car show registration. 9:30: Steps for Spectrum walk. 10 a.m.: Dakota Duo, live main stage.

11 a.m.: Georgia Line Dancers, live main stage.

11 a.m.: Car show judging. Noon: The Rider Band, live main stage.

1:30: Swampfest contests (Cocacola chug, DQ Dilly Bar, Hunt Brothers pizza, Chick-Fil-A sandwich, sausage dog).

3 p.m.: Car Show awards, Parker Street stage.

4:30: Miss Swampfest Pageant recognitions, main stage.

5 p.m.: The McKnight Foundation, live main stage.

6:30 p.m.: The Tams, live main stage.

8:30: The Royals, live main stage. 10:15: Fireworks show. 10:30: Festival closes.
