Seventy-five Pierce County 4-H students gathered recently at Bacon County Middle/High School to compete in the District Project Achievement competition.
These Pierce County students, ranging from 4th to 6th grade, created original speeches and presentations on a wide array of topics of their choice. Their hard work and dedication led to an extraordinary day of learning, growth, and success.
This event marked a significant achievement for Pierce County 4-H, as the county not only excelled in individual presentations but also took home an impressive sweep of awards.
Pierce County won all county awards, making it a proud day for the entire community, and also county earned first place in the following categories: Most Participants at the Contest, Most Improved Participation, Highest Percentage of School Participation (based on school population) and Highest Percentage of Winners “We are beyond proud of our students, teachers and parents,” said Billie Ann King, Pierce’s 4-H County Extension Agent. “This great accomplishment is due to the dedication of our 5th and 6th grade teachers and 4-H leaders, who always prioritize our children’s learning. Providing 4-H opportunities to every child is essential, and the rewards of such programs are lifelong for every student involved.”
“Pierce County’s achievement at the competition is a testament to the hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment of all those involved,” said 4H Program Assistant Carrie Carter. “We applaud all of the Pierce County students who participated and congratulate them for their exceptional efforts and accomplishments. Second place: Hunter Short – General Science, Madison Ross – Safety, Gabe Aldridge – Sports – Team, Tyler Culp – Current People, Places and Events Third place: Leeria Moody – Dog Care and Training, Noah McDuffie – Computer Information Technology, Liam Martinez – Engineering and Mechanics.
Honorable Mention: Anzleigh Kirkendall.
