Leslie Allen ‘Buster’ Baker

HORTENSE – Leslie Allen “Buster” Baker, 72 of Hortense, passed away Monday morning, March 24, 2025 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after an extended illness.

Born in Marion, Ind., Baker’s parents were Robert Leon Baker and Virginia Elizabeth Holland Baker. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Baker; and a sister, Bonnie Lyn Baker.

Baker worked for Edwards Baking Company. He also served in the United States Army during Vietnam. Baker was a jack of all trades who enjoyed staying busy, building things, working in his yards, fishing and watching football.

Survivors include his wife, Frankie Ruth Pennington Baker of Hortense; a son and daughter-in-law, Tyrone Lee Baker (Marnie) of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; six grandchildren, Maryih, Haley, James, Isiah, Anthony and Aubrey; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Norman Baker (Bea) of Marion, Ind., and Kenneth Baker (Melinda) of Sparta, Ind.; two sisters and a brotherin- law, Madalyn Swain (Bill) and Elizabeth Adams all of Marion, Ind.; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

No services will be held at this time.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
