HORTENSE – Gloria Kay White Davison, 72 of Hortense. passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Hospice of South Georgia in Jesup after an extended
illness.

Born in Douglas, Mrs. Davison’s parents were Joseph Ariel White and Evelyn Burch White. She is also preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Alice White; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley Ann Flowers (Lawrence); a brother, Gary White; and a sister-in-law, Mag White.
Mrs. Davison was a homemaker who lived most of her life in Brantley County and was a member of The Salt House Worship Center. She was also former clerk and treasurer of Hortense Church of God of Prophecy and The Salt House Worship Center. Mrs. Davison loved gardening, sewing and shopping.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Jerry Bryant Davison of Hortense; four children and their spouses, Laretta Boyd (Chris) and Kevin Davison (Lindy) all of Hortense, Dana Thomas of Hoboken and Mandi Fleming (Danny) of Savannah; 13 grandchildren, Tiffany Boyd, Hillary Boyd, Josh Davis (Madison), Mattie Ann Hutto (Luke), Ryan Davis (Jennifer), Courtney Miller (Johnny), Taylor Scheirer (Ralph), Dylan Peffer, Austen Peffer, Cheltsie Young, A.C. Young (Angelina), Kaylee Walls (Damien) and Bryson Moody; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, J.D. White; two sisters and brother-in-law, Debbie Davis (Ricky) of Hilliard, Fla., and Virginia Thrift (Ronald) of Hortense; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A funeral service was held Monday, March 31, 2025) at The Salt House Worship Center with Sr. Pastor Deryl Davison, Pastor James Lovell and Rev. Chris Boyd officiating.
Burial followed in Hortense Cemetery.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers wereher nephews.
Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
