Samuel Lewis Caldwell, 68, of Sparks, passed away Tuesday morning, March 25, 2025, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross.

Born in Adel October 27, 1956, he lived in Blackshear followed by Tifton before moving to Sparks in 2010. He had worked at several mills in the area including the Proctor-Gamble Paper Mill before becoming disabled. He loved to fish, watch movies – even a Disney movie – and also enjoyed cartoons and theSyfy Channel along with sports such as the Georgia Bulldogs and NASCAR.
He was a son of the late Willie Marvin Caldwell and Ollie Jane Gandy. He was also preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Raelynn Deal and both of his brothers, Marvin Caldwell Jr. and James Cool.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Lee Sweat Caldwell, Sparks; four daughters, Rebecca Etheridge of Leesburg, Robin (Anthony) Whitaker, Jacksonville, FL, and Ranee (Willie) Lynn and Morgan (Keith) Cason, all of Blackshear; a sister, Donna Caldwell, Valdosta; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Buddy (Amanda) Caldwell of South Carolina and several other nieces, nephews and relatives.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
Memorialization is by cremation.
