JESUP — Virginia B. Rentz, 82 of Jesup, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025.
The Duval County, Fla., native had lived in Wayne County for the past 23 years and was a member of Red Hill Bapt ist Church.
Mrs. Rentz enjoyed being a homemaker and pastor’s wife. She was known for being loving, caring, and encouraging and a Prayer Warrior. Mrs. Rentz loved to cook and bake, especially “sour dough” rolls.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Julie Agee.
Survivors are her husband of 61 years, Dr. Derrell Rentz of Jesup who served as long-time pastor of Hickox Baptist Church; daughters, Sheryl (Dewayne) Herrin of Jesup, Kelley (David) Emig of Rogers, Ark., and Karen (Kelly) Lewis of Lynchburg, Va.; 20 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Saturday, March 22 at Red Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Alan Morgan and Missionary Barbara Hill officiating.
Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be her family.
Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup was in charge of arrangements.
