WAYNESVILLE – Edward “Aaron” Hunter, Jr., 41, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla.
Born in Brunswick, Hunter was the son of the late Edw ard Aaron Hunter, Sr. and Regina Denise Thomps o n Hunter of Waynesville. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ernest A. Hunter and Daisy Hunter; paternal grandmother, Cornelia Robinson; maternal grandmother, Betty Jo Thompson; and maternal grandfather, L.D. Thompson.
Hunter was a general sales manager for different companies. He loved motorcycles, golfing, fishing, combat sports, football and NASCAR. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Crystal Dawn Hickox Hunter of Waynesville; his son, Edward Aaron Hunter III of Waynesville; his daughter, Daisy Lynn Hunter of Waynesville; five step-children, David, Angel, Sophia, Ava and Alana; his mother, Regina Hunter of Waynesville; two brothers and sistersin- law, Ernest Aaron Hunter (Brooklyn) of Waynesville and Matthew Terry Dixon (Jessica) of Waverly; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lori Ann Hunter (Leroy) of St. Mary’s and Elizabeth Elaine Henderson (Jeff) of Waynesville; also several other relatives and a host of friends.
A funeral service was held Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. R.B. Gaskin, Rev. Mike Hendrix and Rev. Trey Keene officiating.
Burial followed in Gibson Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Caleb Dixon, David Morgan, Jesse Henderson, Brandon Jones, Kevin Baxter and Daniel Norfleet.
Honorary pallbearers were Joe Gibson, Mike Smith, Jasper Watts and Chris Gallops.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family of Hunter to help with funeral expenses.
Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
