Tippins speaks to local Rotary Club

Mossy Pond Lodge Manager Bobby Tippins was the guest speaker at last week’s Blackshear Rotary Club meeting. Mossy Pond, located outside of Patterson, was launched in 2003 by Brad Arington. The lodge now operates four kennels with 150-200 dogs in various stages of training from obedience school to sporting skills. One of Mossy Pond’s trainers is a 2x Super Retriever Series Crown winner. The Lodge is busiest during its duck season from October – March, but also hosts quail, pheasant and hog hunts. There are two lodges on the property – one featuring seven rooms and the other 12 rooms. In addition to the 5-star accommodations, fine dining and hunt experiences, Mossy Pond also operates a full service spa with steam shower, sauna and massage services. They welcome 10,000 guests per year from as far away as South Africa and Norway. Mossy Pond also operates lodges in Nebraska, Kentucky and Norway. Mossy Ponds offers event venue rentals and hosts events during their off season – a rodeo and Freedom Fest are planned for later this year. The lodge employs approximately 90 people. Blackshear Rotary Club meets weekly at J Leonard’s on Main. Pictured above (l-r) are Rotarian the Rev. Dr. Justin Gambrell and Tippins.
