Susan Joreka Cauley Tucker

Susan Joreka Cauley Tucker, 64, of Waycross, passed away Thursday morning, March 20, 2025, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross.

Born in Alma June 27, 1960, she grew up in Blackshear but had made Ware County her home most of her adult life. She was a 1979 graduate of Blackshear High School and went on to work as a CNA at the former Pierce County Hospital. Over the years, she worked at the former Memorial Hospital in Waycross as a pharmacy technician, receptionist/front office at dental offices and Pro-Am Gas in Blackshear and later in life cleaning houses and being a homemaker.

Her favorite place to be was at the beach. She was a devoted wife and mother, and enjoyed doing things for her daughter, Lindsey and whoever else she could include and love on. She dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren and was known to spoil those she loved. She was of the Baptist faith and although her physical limitations impacted her ability to be in the Lord’s House as much as she wanted, her spiritual faith remained strong.

She was a daughter of the late Virgil Grady and Lillie Aruex Haselden Cauley. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Boyd.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, David T. Tucker, Waycross; her daughter and son-in-law, Lindsey and Rusty Tatum, Waycross; two sisters, Karen (Tony) Joyner and Brenda (Craig) Turner, all of Blackshear; three grandchildren, Tucker, Kimber and Elley; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special fur babies, Coco and Candy.

Visitation will held from 3-4 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 23, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Keith Lloyd and Pastor R.B. Gaskins officiating.

Memorialization will be by cremation.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice Satilla Hospice House, 811 Beacon Street, Waycross, GA 31501.

Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online register at  www.pearsondial.com.

Pearson-Dial Funeral Home of Blackshear is in charge of arrangements.
