Daryl Fuller Perritt

Daryl Fuller Perritt, 59, of Waycross passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025,  at the Malcolm Randall Veterans Hospital in Gainesville, FL, following a brief illness.  

He was born Sept 8, 1965 in Clearwater, Florida to the late Richard Herbert “Jack” Perritt and Camilla Jean “Millie” Register Perritt but was raised in Waycross and Patterson.  He spent his entire adult life in Waycross.  He was a 1983 graduate of Pierce County High School.   

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a 33 year retiree of the Waycross Fire Department having also worked part time with the Ware County Fire Dept. 

Always the social person, he was involved in many activities including attending annual NASCAR racing events as well as  working as a firefighter with NASCAR and enjoying the camaraderie of these events and the many friendships made.   

For over 20 years he served as a volunteer clown serving families of fallen firefighters at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend in Maryland. He was an avid scuba diver serving as “chief” of the volunteer dive team for Ware County as well as owning his own underwater pool repair business.  

He was a fire safety educator, lifetime member of the NRA, local member of the Okefenokee Ducks Unlimited and was a member of Sweat Memorial Baptist Church. 

Survivors include his two daughters, Maggie Perritt Sweat (Simon), Patterson and Jessica Perritt, Waycross; three grandchildren, Riley, Jayden, and Remley; a brother, Richard H. Perritt III (Pam), Waycross;, Waycross;  former wife and mother of his children, Stacey Perritt LaRoche as well as many nieces and nephews.  

Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at Sweat Memorial Baptist Church. 

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 22,  from the Sweat Memorial Baptist Church.   

A private graveside will be held in Oakland Cemetery at a later date.  

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation at www.firehero.org 

The Waycross Fire Department and the Ware County Fire Department are asked to meet at the church by 2:40 p.m. Saturday to serve as honorary pallbearers.

Music Funeral Home  of Waycross is in charge of arrangements.
