City officials, staff members along with guests and representatives of Ethan Jackson Investments and TrueNorthWay LLC, gathered Friday morning, March 14 to break ground on the “Windsor at Waycross” apartment complex on Brunel Street near Howe Street and Haines Avenue. The development will consist of 72, one-bedroom units in six buildings of Victorian-era architecture to be in line with the style of homes in the area. According to property owner/developer Jeremiah Horne, work is expected to begin this month on the first two of the six structures, said City Commissioner Katrena Felder, in whose district (3) the project is located. Completion time is targeted for early fall, Felder said. The development is aimed at helping alleviate the lack of housing for the city’s young adults just entering the workforce.
