• Possession of Methamphetimine, Possession of Fentanyl, Suspended Driver’s License, Expired Registration, Consealing Identity, Improper Vehicle Equipment: A Waycross man was arrested March 6 for drug possession and other driving-related violations as the result of a traffic stop.
Arrested was Antonia Lamonte Mizell, 41, of the 5300 block of Johnson Place. Mizell was charged with Possession of Methamphetimine, Possession of Fentanyl, Suspended Driver’s License, Expired Registration, Consealing Identity, and Improper Vehicle Equipment.
About 9:10 p.m, March 6, Patrole Deputy Hunter Thomas was patrolling the area of Ga. 520 when a white, Ford F350 pickup passed him with a nonfunctioning taillight.
Thomas initiated the stop on the Ga. 4 bypass near Smith Lane. Thomas made contact with Mizell, who said he didn’t realize his taillight was broken.
After asking for Mizell’s license, Thomas found they were suspended and also advised the driver his registration was expired. In addition, Mizell was the subject of an active warrant by the Waycross Police Department for felony theft by conversion.
Thomas placed Mizell in wrist restraints after the driver exited the car. Mizell was asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle and approved a search.
Assisted by Patrol Deputy Javone Thompson, Thomas searched the vehicle and found a black container lodged between the side of the driver’s seat and the door. Inside was a green leafy substance in clear cellophane along with four different pills under the cellophane that field tested for meth and fentanyl after Mizell arrived at the Ware County
Jail processing.
• Theft: Patrol Deputy Zackary Lytle took a report about 4:11 March 10 of medication being stolen in the 15-00 block of Hilliard Avenue.
The victim reported several prescription medications were stolen between March 8 and 10. Det. Dakota York was assigned to follow up.
• Burglary: Patrol Cpl. Theresa Wright took a report at 12:2 p.m., March 9 of a burglary that already had occurred in the 3400 block of Minnesota Avenue.
Reported stolen between March 7 and 9 were a dolly and a lawn mower. The dolly was taken from inside the residence and the mower from the yard.
A window air conditioner was found on the ground below an open window in the house.

• Burglary: Patrol Sgt. Craig Colley took a report of a burglary that already had occurred in the 400 block of Amy’s Place between February 28 and March 1.
Reported stolen from the residence were a 32inch Emerson TV and an oxygen tank. The victim reported the front door had been pried open and the door knob damaged to gain entry.

• Entering auto: Patrol Deputy Luis Moran took a report at about 3 p.m., March 12 of two vehicles entered in the 2100 block of Illinois Avenue with items being stolen.
Entered were a Ford F150 pickup and a Toyota Camry between the afternoon of March 11 and the evening of March 12.
Reported stolen were an undisclosed amount of currency, financial and ID cards, and a 9mm Arex Delta M pistol.
The victim stated a relative noticed the glove compartment in their Camry was open and items strewn about in the vehicle. The victim also found the pickup had been entered and the firearm was missing. Det. Phillips was assigned to follow up.
• Burglary: Sgt. Branden Phillips took a report at 5:37 p.m., March 11 of a burglary in 700 block of South Augusta Avenue between November 30, 2024 and January 8.
Reported stolen were personal paperwork and keys, an acetylene torch with two tanks, a compressor with two tanks, a welder, a mini refrigerator, and a variety of clothing.
