Two injured in collision

Both drivers were injured in a collision Tuesday, March 11 on Brunwick Highway at its intersection with Havanna Avenue, Ware County Sheriff’s Office Major Neil Skerratt said.

Natalie Fuller, 26, of a Palmetton Pass address in Waycross and Robert Odum, 80, of a Live Oak Loop address in Hoboken, were transported to Memorial Satilla Health following the 11:34 a.m. accident. Fuller was transported by Ware County EMS for treatment while Odum was transported by a family vehicle, Skerratt said.

Upon arriving at the scene, Patrol Deputy Savannah Leslie observed Fuller trapped behind the steering wheel of her brown Kia Sportage with Ware County Fire & Rescue personnel working to free her from the vehicle.

The small SUV was in a ditch near a business, Skerratt said.

According to the report, Odum in a gray, Ford F-150 pickup, was westbound attempting to turn on Havanna Avenue and failed to yield to Fuller, who was traveling east on Brunswick Highway.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage, Skerratt said.

The Georgia State Patrol also responded to the accident and took over its investigation.
