The best in competition barbecue recipes will be available Saturday, March 22 in the Okefenokee Smoke BBQ Festival at he Waycross Exchange Club Fairgrounds, 2401 Knight Avenue.
Gates for the all-day affair open at 10 a.m. with free admission and parking. The event is presented by Friendly Express and in association with the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) and the Southeast BBQ Championship.
In addition to the barbecue, there also will be the OkeeāKruzin Car Show with antique and hot rod vehicles on display, food and craft vendors, and live entertainment.
The festival showcases KCBS professional barbecue-sanctioned teams and amateur competitions, ensuring that BBQ lovers of all kinds will enjoy the array of smoked meats.
Participation will help support Your Hometown Charities, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting community needs. Proceeds from the festival will help raise awareness and essential funds for charitable causes in the area.
