Ware GOP sets county sessions
The Ware County Republican Party holds its county convention at 9 a.m., Saturday, March 22 at Ware County Courthouse, Main Courtroom, 800 Church Street.
The Precinct Caucuses will convene at 9 a.m. to elect delegates to the county convention. That session will convene at 10 a.m. in the courtroom to elect delegates to the First Congressional District Convention and the Georgia GOP Convention.
All Ware County residents who are legally registered to vote and believe in the principles of the Republican Party are urged to participate. Registration will be from 8:15 to 9 a.m., but those in line at 9 a.m. will be permitted to register for the $25 fee.
The district convention will convene at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 26 in Savannah to elect district officers and State Committee members. Call (912) 2825551 for more information.
Pilots offer free flights for youth The Black Pilots Association of America returns to the Waycross-Ware County Airport Saturday, April 12 for its annual “Thrill of the First Flight” program for area youth.
The pilots will give anyone under 18 the magic of flight with a complimentary airplane ride from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the airport, 3098 Keen Drive. Spots are limited. A light lunch will be provided for the youth.
Law firm offers technology grants Georgia law firm Farah & Farah will award five Georgia high school seniors a technology scholarship containing new laptops valued at more than $1,000 each to help them further their studies as part of its Empowering Greatness Scholarship program.
Students interested in applying for the grants can visit the Empowering Greatness Scholarship Program Georgia webpage through April 30. To be eligible, students must attend a Title 1 school in Georgia. The students also will need to demonstrate outstanding academic performance, dedicated community engagement and provide an essay submission.
