Exchange hears CSX officer

Bryan Robbins (second from left), a Special Agent with CSX Transportation Police spoke to a recent lunch meeting of the Waycross Exchange Club. The guest spoke on some of his duties, but spent most of his time explaining safety issues with trains using anecdotes and a PowerPoint presentation. He reminded the club “anytime is train time,” stressing any time you approach a railroad crossing, assume a train is coming. Citing stopping times of various speeds of locomotives and selected vehicles, he demonstrated how unwise it is to try to “beat the train” at a crossing. The motto for train safety is “look, listen, live.” Flanking Robbins and Ware County Sheriff Carl James, who introduced the guest, is club president David Johnson (left) and president-elect Kirby McSwain.
