WCHS thinclads sweep three-team Tift County meet

TIFTON — Ware County High School’s track teams captured victories in a three-team meet here hosted by Tift County.

The Lady Gators unofficially accumulated 164 points with the host Lady Blue Devils finishing with 88 and Brooks County 83.

The Gators’ unofficially totaled 158 points to clip Tift County’s 151. Brooks County finished with 74 points.

Points were tabulated on a scale of 10 points for first, eight points for second, six points for third, four points for fourth and three points for fifth. No official point totals were released.

Winning events for the Lady Gators were Shaliah Davis (4’10”) in the high jump, Charlacia Jones (15’6.75”) in the long jump, Jada Evans (35’3”) in the triple jump, Shardell Vickers (35’6”) in the shot put, the 4x100-meter relay team (51.76 seconds), 4x200m relay team (1:49.36), Finishing second were India Brinson (13.29 sec.) in the 100m, Charmaine Farrell (1:06.08) in the 400m, Kiyoko Ward (3:31.05) in the 800m, KeMya Crowley (15’4.5”) in the long jump, Shardell Vickers (80’1”) in the discus and Destiny Finney (33’6”) in the shot put.

Clocking third-place finishes were Jada Conaway (13.46 sec.) in the 100m, Lailani Carson (29.23 sec.) in the 200m and 400m (1:10.82), Kiyoko Ward (7:37.48) in the 1,600m, Nadya Ellis (19.00 sec.) in the 100m hurdles and Jada Evans (30’6”) in the shot put.

Recording fourth-place finishes were KeMya Crowley (13.62 sec.) in the 100m, Alexis Lane (1:11.16) in the 400m and Destiny Finney (73’11”) in the discus,.

Finishing fifth were India Brinson (30.76 sec.) in the 200m, Nadya Ellis (1:11.27) in the 400m, Charmaine Farrell (20.40 sec.) in the 100m hurdles and Jada Evans (64’5”) in the discus Shidaviona Washington (13’11.5”) placed sixth in the long jump. Finishing seventh were Rihanna Bolds (14.67) in the 100m, Kasi Jackson (33.08 sec.) in the 200m and 100m hurdles (23.62 sec.), and Amaria Dukes (1:12.10) in the 400m.

Susana Coronado-Sanchez (36’1”) placed eighth in the discus. Finishing ninth were Izzy Griffis (17.82 sec.) in the 100m, Cami Barnes (34’3”) in the discus and Quamari Christian (16’3”) in the shot put. Susana Coronado-Sanchez (15’9”) was 10th in the shot put.

Notching first-place showings for the Gators were Adarius Brown (6’2”) in the high jump, Bryce Baldwin (41’1”) in the triple jump, Damarious Dennis (115’2”) in the discus and the 4x100m relay team (44.17 sec.).

Posting second-place finishes were Ziacheas White (11.33 sec.) in the 100m, Darius Lawrence (56.65 sec.) in the 400m, Brayten Hood (2:13.77) in the 800m and 1,600m (5:11.67), Savion Love (20’) in the long jump, Teshaun Wilson (114’3”) in the discus and Uriah Benefield (37’3”) in the shot put.

Recording third-place finishes were Rykeil Kitchen (23.39 sec.) in the 200m, Jaden McKelvin (57.10 sec.) in the 400m, Brock Payne (2:30.67) in the 800m, and 1,600m (5:37.06), Bryce Baldwin (19’3”) in the long jump, Cameron King (40’6.5”) in the triple jump and the 4x200m relay team (1:36.07).

Finishing fourth were Ja’Vonni Miller (11.58 sec.) in the 100m and the high jump (5’4”), Cameron King (19’.5”) in the long jump, Savion Love (39’3”) in the triple jump and Damarious Dennis (34’) in the shot put.

200m. Michael Hayes

(1:03.63) was 10th in the

400m.
