The Pierce County Planning Commission discuss and/or voted on the following during their regular monthly meeting Monday, March 10.
Chapel Drive subdivision: The planning commission approved recommending rezoning 23.66 acres on Chapel Drive, Blackshear from agriculture/forestry to single family residential. Thrift Investment Company/ MCH, LLC made the request and plans to develop a subdivision on the tract. No one spoke in opposition to the request.
Fox Run Estates Phase 2 subdivision: Thrift Investment Company/ MCH, LLC also requested approval for phase 2 of of the Fox Run Estates Subdivision on Fox Run Circle, Blackshear. The planning commission approved recommending approval for the request. There was no public comment on the request.
Highway 121 request: Allen and Griffis Construction requested a rezone of 50 acres on Georgia Highway 121, Blackshear. The request would change the zoning from agriculture/ forestry to singlefamily for residential purposes. No one spoke in opposition to the request.
Next meeting: The planning commission will hold its next meeting at 10:30 am. Monday, April 14 at the courthouse annex on Nichols Street.
