It is a rare occasion when firefighters, especially volunteer firefighters, can get together to enjoy a meal together. Someone is always either on duty or at work. November 14, in anticipation of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, the crews of Pierce County’s firefighters managed to find time to break bread with one another and their loved ones, sharing thanks for the special community they protect and the people that support their efforts. The Walkerville station hosted the Bearville, Northside, Southside, Hacklebarney, Offerman and Otter Creek stations and a meal of epic proportions with everyone bringing something to the table and all gathered leaving with full hearts— and full bellies.
