Robert Louis ‘Robbie’ Wasden Jr.

Robert Louis “Robbie” Wasden Jr., 64, of Blackshear, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, at his residence.

Born in Jacksonville, FL March 5, 1961, he lived in Charleston, SC for several years before returning to Pierce County 10 years ago. He was a 1979 graduate of Patterson High School. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy where he served for six years. While in Charleston, he worked for the Ashley Oaks Apartments as a maintenance technician. He loved being outdoors whether it was fishing, hunting, or working in the yard and tending to flowers. He was a huge Georgia Bulldog fan and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Louis Wasden Sr. and by a nephew, Devin Crews.

Survivors include his son, Blake Wasden, Midland, TX; his mother and step-father, Agnes and Grady Strickland, Blackshear; three sisters, Debbie Crews and Tina (Wally) Dixon, both of Blackshear and Cindy (Nick) Kittle, Rocky Mount, NC; two brothers, John Strickland, Jackson and Kevin (Mandy) Strickland, Shelbyville, TN; four grandchildren, Anastacie, Shiloh, Roxy and Reiner Wasden; 11 nieces and nephews, Dara (Leve) Boatright, Tori (Tyler) White, Buck Dixon, Brittany Duncan, Allen (Cammi) Duncan, Sydney Lewis, Shelby Strickland, Savannah Strickland, Ethan Strickland, Maggie Strickland and Zeke Strickland and several great-nieces and great-nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 1-2 pm. Wednesday, March 19, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 19,  from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Sasser and Kevin Strickland officiating.

Interment will be in the Waters Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Buck Dixon, Eddie Sapp, W.T. Sapp, Greg Sweat, Hunter Crews and David Boulware.
