Earnestine Combs Boatright

Earnestine Combs Boatright, 99, of Blackshear, passed away Monday afternoon, March 10, 2025, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross, following an extended illness.
Born October 7, 1925, in Waycross, she was a daughter of the late Archie Hamilton and Ada Bell Copeland Combs. She lived all her life in Ware and Pierce Counties and had been a longtime housewife and helped her husband at their family business, Boatright’s Service Station.
She was a longtime member of the Blackshear Church of God, had attended Sunday School for many years, and was currently the oldest member.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Claude Boatright; infant son, Etheridge Boatright; a great-great granddaughter, Aniya Jennell; grandson-in-law, George Music Jr.; two sisters, Vesta Anderson and Hazel Thorne; three brothers, Norman Combs, Spencer Combs, and Kenneth Combs and a special niece, Ginger Coffee.
Survivors include her daughter, Claudette Durrance, Blackshear; two grandchildren, Clayton Durrance (wife Melinda) of Alabama and Sabrina Music, Waycross; three great -grandchildren, Clay Durrance, Waycross, Dewayne Durrance, Patterson and Rance Music (fiancé Layce), Waycross; four great-great-grandchildren, Abbie Durrance, Layton Durrance, Ella Durrance and Destiny Durrance; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ethel Mae Combs, Augusta, Vonnis and Stanley Boatright, Brunswick and Billy Boatright, Waycross; two special great-nieces, Shelly Howard (husband Hendry) and Kelly Crawford (husband Will), both of Blackshear; a special great-great niece, KellyAnn Howard, Blackshear and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, from the Blackshear Church of God.
Interment will follow in the Blackshear City Cemetery.
The family will be gathering at the home of Kelly and Will Crawford.
