Bobby Blue Smith, 24, of Waycross died Thursday June 22, 2023, in Ware County.
He was born in Waycross July 12, 1998 to Bobby Green Smith and Crystal Blue Freeman. He had made Ware and Pierce County his home for his entire life. He was a 2017 graduate of Pierce County High School. He was a dedicated firefighter for the Ware County Fire Department. He also took great joy in working for Kenny Hodges and Hodges Plumbing and for Chris Walker and Walker’s Lawn Care.
An humble follower of Christ, he was a light in his community, who loved people and uplifted each and everyone he came in contact with. He loved to fish, hunt and ride buggies, especially at Fat Daddy’s ATV Park. More than anything, he loved his family and cherished the quality time he was able to spend with them. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bobby Smith and Virginia Hickox.
Survivors include his mother, Crystal Blue Freeman Davis and her husband Mark, Millwood; his father, Bobby Smith and his wife Shei, Blackshear; his sister, Zoë Smith, Valdosta; one step-brother, Shane Youmans, Blackshear; two step-sisters, Libby Youmans and Abby Westberry, Blackshear; his girlfriend, Kearington Moore, Blackshear; his maternal grandparents, Tom and Eileen Freeman, St. Johns, FL; his aunts and uncles, Tommy and Betsy Freeman, Jacksonville, FL, Kevin and Julie Parrott, Blackshear and Cheryl and Brent Jacobs, Brantley County; his best friend and cousin, Tripp Freeman, Jacksonville, FL and numerous other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, June 25, at the funeral home.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 26, from the Central Baptist Church in Waycross.
Interment will follow in Bennett Cemetery in Millwood.
