Employment Expo scheduled April 3 The City of Waycross and Work Source Georgia are partnering to stage the Spring Employment Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, April 3 at the C.C. Mc-Cray City Auditorium, 865 Pendleton Street.
More than 40 businesses are expected to attend the job fair.
Adopt-a-Thon at Petsense April 12 Petsense holds its Spring Adopt-a-Thon from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 12 in the parking lot in front of the store, 2477 Memorial Drive.
Animals from shelters and rescues in a 100-mile radius will participate with adoptable pets.
There also will be a variety of vendors selling items and food on site with 10 percent of their proceeds going to the shelters and rescues.
The Ware County Sheriff s Office and Waycross Police Department K-9 units will have demonstrations, and there will be a petting zoo, games, and face painting for children.
There also will be a raffle for a variety of prizes with proceeds also benefitting the shelters and rescues.
The local event is part of a nationwide program dedicated to placing adoptable animals in a forever home.

Ware Rec. Dept, set fishing rodeo
The Ware County Recreation Department will stage a Youth Fishing Rodeo from 9 to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 5 at the Trembling Earth Complex, 2110 Cecil Brown Drive.
Youth ages 5-13 are eligible to participate with the event limited to the first 30 registrants. Registration is free and will begin at 8 a.m.
There will be prizes for the top three finishers. Participants can keep what they catch.

Ware GOP holds meeting March 17
The Ware County Republican Party holds its monthly meeting at 6 p.m., Monday, March 17 at Hog ‘n’ Bones Restaurant, 1900 Memorial Drive.
County officers and precinct chairmen will meet from 5:10 to 5:30 p.m. The session’s program starts at 6:30 p.m. and will include information about the 2025 convention cycle.
The dates of this year’s conventions are: Precinct Caucus and County Convention, Saturday March 22 at the Ware County Courthouse, First District GOP Convention on Saturday, April 26 in Savannah, and the State GOP Convention Friday-Saturday, June 6-7 in Dalton.

Sheriff James sets Easter Egg Hunt Ware County Sheriff Carl James and his personnel will hold an Easter Egg Hunt from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 12 on the office grounds, 3487 Harris Road.
The hunt, which begins at 10:45 a.m., is open to infants through children age 11. There will be prizes for age divisions infant to 3, ages 47 and 8-11.
Lunch will follow the egg hunt.
