The Pierce County High School FFA 4-Person Forestry team finished as runner up in the regional contest recently held in Tift County. The team will now advance to the state competition to be held March 22 in Covington at the Georgia FFA Camp. To compete in the event, all team members participate in four parts of the competition: compass/pacing, timber measuring, tree identification and timber atand improvement. All four team members’ points are combined for a cumulative final score. In the state event, all members will complete the four parts mentioned as well as an additional team event.
