Nominate yourself or a cancer survivor today

Are you ready for a makeover?

Everyone deserves to feel glamorous, especially ladies who have fought and won the battle of cancer.

Memorial Satilla Health will hold its first makeover event for cancer survivors in Blackshear and the surrounding counties. The event will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at The Banter in Blackshear.

Nominations to attend the event are being accepted by visiting www.makingovercancer. org or by scanning the QR code below. The ladies can expect professional makeup, hairstyles, headshots, speakers, swag bags, refreshments and lasting friendships with other survivors.

Making Over Cancer, a 501c3 non-profit also known as Survivor Glam Squad, was formed in 2012 by Keely Webster and Jennifer Hagan. The organization aims to help cancer survivors rebuild their self-esteem through a confidence-boosting makeover experience while providing education and support that allows survivors to maintain their quality of life.

Their first makeover led to additional makeovers. The initiative soon expanded and became a national network of salons and professionals. Key partners such as the American Cancer Society, Disney, Paul Mitchell, Aveda and Peter Coppola sponsor the group.
