WAYCROSS — SA Recycling Waycross, one of seven metal recycling facilities in Southeast Georgia, recently presented gift cards to grocery stores and a clothing donation to Memorial Drive Elementary School in Waycross.
“A part of our company core values is to have strong relationships in the communities that we operate in,” said SA Recycling Waycross General Manager Nick Cantrell of the Tuesday, February 18 event. “In the past years we’ve supported the Magnolia House, Ware County Animal Services and Waycross Police Department Shop with A Cop. In this new year, I personally wanted to reach out to our local elementary schools to help our younger students get a head start on life.
“Sometimes people need help when they start out and we wanted our educators to know how much we appreciate all they do.”
Cantrell also made a similar donation to Midway Elementary in Pierce County.
“We have kids who have accidents, holes in clothes or they spill something on themselves,” said Memorial Drive Elementary School Counselor Tiffany Warren. “Our boutique clothes closet surplus supply runs low and we are in need of extra clothing in different sizes for both boys and girls.
“Having a local business donate to us helps take away the expense of these much needed items. Sometimes the little things can make a difference.”
SA Recycling’s 857 Garlington Avenue’s Waycross yard is committed to environmental sustainability, protecting the planet’s resources and to being a good neighbor to Ware and Pierce County.
