Father and son duo indicted for Guess murder

A father-son duo from Waycross have been indicted for the October 17, 2024 Blackshear murder of Kimberly Guess.

The currently empaneled Pierce County Grand Jury returned a true bill Wednesday, February 26, for Tracy Lee Bryant Sr., 53, and Tracy Lee Bryant Jr., 30, both of Waycross.

The grand jury returned true bills and indicted both men for felony murder, malice murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Bryant Jr. was also indicted for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The indictments were opened in Pierce County Superior Court by Waycross Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Kight last week.

The Bryants are being represented by Sarah Lewis of the Waycross Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office.

Bryant Sr. is accused of shooting Guess multiple times between 5-5:30 a.m. the morning of Thursday, October 17. Bryant Jr. is accused of intentionally aiding and abetting his father in the murder.

Both men were arrested in December, 2024. Bryant Sr. was Guess’s supervisor at her job at Clayton Homes in Waycross. The pair had also been romantically involved, but Guess had recently broken off the relationship.

Guess, 34, was murdered in front of her home in the 800 block of Ware Street as she walked out to her car.
