Brenda Sue Donaldson Cobb, 73, of Blackshear, passed away Monday morning, July 3, 2023, at Baptist Village Retirement Communities in Waycross, following an extended illness and entered her heavenly home.
Born November 25, 1949, in Candler County, she was a daughter of the late Rawleigh and Pauline Lanier Donaldson. She had lived in Metter for 66 years before moving to Pierce County in 2016. She became a resident at Baptist Village in 2018 and was known around the nursing home for her sassy, feisty and comical attitude. She was often referred to as Mrs. Priss!
A lifelong homemaker, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed working in her flowers, traveling, fishing and going out to eat. Crab legs were her favorite!
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Cobb; two brothers, Wayne Donaldson and John Kennedy and a sister-in-law and best friend, Lori Donaldson.
Survivors include her two children, Tina Lynn (husband James), Blackshear and Tony Young (wife Lisa), Metter; five grandchildren, Jessica Dowling (husband Michael), Waycross; Gatlan Lynn (fiancé Candice Kinard), Blackshear and Haleigh Young, Courtney Young, and Whitney Young, all of Metter; two great-grandchildren, Finleigh Dowling and Rosie Dowling; sister, Ann Bargeron (husband Charles), Metter; three brothers, Wade Donaldson and Jimmy Donaldson (wife Helen), both of Metter, and Tom Kennedy of Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and her favorite CNA’s, Courtney O’Berry and Shelly Taylor, both of Waycross.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 6, from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home with Bro. James Lynn officiating.
